As the sun rose, painting the sky with hues of orange and pink, our motorcycles roared to life, signaling the beginning of another adventure with friends. This time, we set our sights on the hidden gem of Kumbhe Waterfalls, a small village nestled in the heart of nature’s paradise – Mangaon Taluka, Raigad district. Unbeknownst to many, this lesser-known destination promised an abundance of natural beauty and tranquillity, attracting us like a magnet.
The journey to Kumbhe Waterfalls led us through awe-inspiring landscapes, meandering between beautiful agricultural fields that resembled an endless, lush green carpet. Nature greeted us with a gentle rain and a refreshing breeze, embracing us in its tender embrace as we embarked on this remarkable escapade.
One of the first surprises of the trip was the picturesque tunnel, a masterpiece crafted by local people for easy transportation. Spanning approximately two hundred meters, the tunnel’s alluring beauty left us in awe. The absence of artificial lighting and cement plaster gave it an ethereal charm, evoking the feeling of venturing through mysterious caves. At the end of this enchanting passageway, the tunnel rewarded us with a heavenly fresh water bath, akin to a sacred consecration, etching an unforgettable memory in our hearts.
After parking our motorcycles atop a hill, we began a cautious walk towards the viewpoint. With no paved road, the natural dirt path posed risks, particularly during rainfall, when it became slippery and precarious. The village being less known meant the absence of safety railings, urging us to exercise utmost care during our ascent. As raindrops started pouring heavily and fog enveloped the surroundings, visibility diminished. We waited patiently for the rain to relent, and as the skies finally cleared, we continued our journey.
Upon reaching the viewpoint, a breathtaking panorama of a beautiful valley greeted us. Surrounded by multiple waterfalls cascading down like milky white threads, the scene exuded a surreal charm. Our hearts swelled with awe as we advanced towards the magnificent Kumbhe Waterfall, where water plummeted from a height of over 100 feet. However, the frequent fog made it elusive, adding an air of mystery to its grandeur.
Amidst this natural wonder, our emotions flowed like poetry, and we found ourselves swaying to nature’s rhythm under the enchanting twilight.
